What
is the Macon Area Chamber of Commerce?
We help promote business in
Macon
and work with the area businesses to ensure the growth
and economic stability of the community.
We also work as an information center for
visitors, new residents, new businesses, and even
existing businesses.

Chamber of Commerce?
We are located at 1407
North Missouri
in
Macon
,
Missouri
--on Highway 63 through town. We are across the
street from J & R Appliance. Our
parking lot is large enough for RV’s and trailers, so
feel free to stop in no matter what you’re driving.

Our office hours are
Monday through Friday,
9:00 am
until
3:00 pm
. We hold a Chamber membership meeting for all of our
members the third Tuesday of each month. Please

Why
the
Macon
Area
Chamber of Commerce?
Because we are the partner in
business for all
Macon
businesses! We
help promote business in
Macon
so that the town grows and prospers and therefore the
residents of
Macon
do too. We
also have a city transportation program along side the
OATS organization. We
provide in-town transportation to those residents who can
not drive themselves. This program is made possible by
grants from MODOT and the City of
Macon
!
Benefits of Membership:

Annual
Banquet-This
is just our way of saying “Thank-You” for your
support. The banquet is also an evening that
brings Chamber members together for a year-end
celebration with dinner, entertainment and an annual
awards ceremony. |

Annual
Events-The
Chamber holds several annual events including a Golf
tournament, snowball slide, Christmas Parade, and Christmas in the Park.
These events draw large crowds and foster community
involvement. As a member, you have the
opportunity to sponsor these events, providing extra
exposure to potential customers and recognition as
an event supporter. |

Business
Referrals-The
Chamber receives numerous phone calls requesting
information on local retail, manufacturing and
service businesses.
The Chamber refers current members, which
results in a direct lead for you.

Chamber Times-This
is a monthly newsletter to help keep our members
informed of not only what the Chamber is doing but
what all the other Chamber members are doing as well.
This is an excellent advertising outlet for our
members—reaching over 200 potential customers each
month! All at no additional cost to you. |

Chariton
Valley Tourism -The
Chamber is a member of the Chariton Valley Tourism
Commission, which promotes tourism in the Chariton
Valley Region. |
 | Gift
Certificate Program-
This
program is very popular! Individuals may purchase gift
certificates from us in any dollar amount. These
certificates may only be used to purchase items at
businesses that are Chamber members. As a
member, the gift certificate program will benefit you
by bringing customers to your business and keeping tax
revenue in
Macon
County
. |
 | Monthly
Membership Meetings-Held
on the Third Tuesday of every month, this is your
chance as a member to voice your opinion, make
announcements and socialize with other members.
This is an additional opportunity to network with
other business professionals. |
 | OATs
Program-Through
a grant from MoDOT, and funding from membership dues,
we are able to facilitate the OATs transportation
program. This enables us to assist individuals (who
are otherwise unable to travel) get out and do their
shopping in
Macon
. |

Red
Alert Emails-We
promptly inform our members of any thefts, fraud,
counterfeiting or other questionable activity.
This keeps you informed so that you may be proactive
in situations that might adversely affect your
business. |

Ribbon
Cutting/Grand Openings-We contact media outlets
to assist coverage of your Ribbon Cuttings or Grand
Opening.
Added publicity and exposure will create more
traffic for you.

Visitor
Information-The
Chamber serves as a welcome center to area tourists
as well as perspective residents and business
owners. The office staff assists
residents and visitors who call in or request
information; and, as a member, information about
your business is distributed first!

Site
-The
Chamber web site lists each of our members as well as
a link to your own web page. This is a perfect
way for you to advertise your business 24 hours a day,
7 days a week at no additional charge to you. |

Welcome
Baskets- We
present each new resident with a welcome basket
filled with items from Chamber members only.
New residents will know about your business first.

Chamber of Commerce, you are helping us to help you.
With your support, our organization is working to develop
and strengthen our business community. We encourage
